Finlay held his coat close to his chest as he stared around the campsite, having already been hired, but still way too shy and awkward to really do anything. Vivid eyes glanced nervously from attraction to attraction, and his ears faintly twitched within his messy hair. It was a mess because he hadn't touched a brush in a few days.
Being, er was, homeless kind of does that to a person.
The loud noises weren't really helping, it just made him even more anxious. "Goodness," he muttered, rubbing one ringing ear. "...so loud."

James exited the main tent after a talk with the ring linger and saw someone standing off to the side. He seemed almost dejected, standing alone like that, looking around as if nervous. James put a big smile on-not that you could see that under his mask-and went over to the man. "Hello! I'm James!! Who are you?"

Eyes scanning the area, trying to get a good inner vision of his new home, when they suddenly landed upon a masked man now standing in front of him. With a jump of fright, he stepped back a bit and stared at the person almost in fear. It was merely because he was startled, which happened easily to the poor fella.
Finlay bit his lip and tightened his grip on his coat. "Finlay," he replied, a very noticeable British accent even in that one spoken word.

"Finlay...I like how that sounds!" James had noticed the man jump. "Sorry if I scared you, I saw you standing here alone, and thought I would come over." his eyes closed as his smile broadened. He scratched the side of his face. "Are you a customer?"

Finlay blinked at James, a blush crossing his cheeks at the compliment. He didn't get very many of those, or any that sounded genuine like this one. "No," he shook his head, raising his arms to rest his chin on his coat and watch James through his bangs. "You didn't scare me, just caught me by surprise." Again, he shook his head. "No, I'm not a customer, I was just hired."

It was a good thing he hadn't scared Finlay. He was a new worker here! James suddenly seemed to be surrounded by sparkles. "I'm new here too! We could take a walk around the circus if you would like. Oh! You have to meet the others as well!!" he took Finlay's hand and tugged on it gently, much like a child that wanted to go somewhere with his parents. "Come, it will be more fun if we do it together!"

Finlay, again, was taken back by how enthusiastic this man was, though stumbled forward as his hand was pulled on. He didn't exactly weigh much. "Ok," he giggled and gave a faint smile in return. "It would be better to get to know my new home with someone. I've never had a friend before."

James was shocked "What?! No friends?" tears welled up in his eyes "That's so sad! How lonely you must have been." he snapped out of it pretty quickly, not one to be sad for long. "Don't worry I'll be your friend! I'm sure the others here will be too!" he started leading Finlay around the circus, talking about the attractions and tents as they passed them.

Poor Finlay wasn't quite sure what to do as he was lead around and told that he would now have a friend. A blush stayed upon his complexion throughout the tour and he was very appreciative of James' eagerness to be his friend, it felt really nice. "Thank you," he said softly.

James looked towards Finlay "Hm? Thank me for what?" his elf ears sure came in handy sometimes. He stopped near the main tents back entrance. He tilted his head inquisitively. His eyes sparkled as he looked to his new friend.

James lifted his mask, showing the bright smile on his face. "That's not something you need to thank me for." he looked around, it seemed that none of the others were around right now. He looked back to Finlay "I'm sure I'm not the only one who will want to be your friend either..." he scratched his face looking upwards "I guess that was my roundabout way of saying its no problem."

Finlay smiled as well when he met James' bright one, calming a little now that the mask was short of out of the way. "Yea, but you're the first friend I ever made, it's special." he replied, looking away to the side, hiding behind his bangs again as he blushed.

James smiled even wider, his eyes closing as he did. "Well, glad I'm could be the first." his smile faded some, and he quickly pulled his mask back down as some circus guests walked by. Guests weren't really supposed to be in this area, but sometimes they wandered back there. Once they were gone, James pulled his mask off his face again. "So....what do you want to do next?"

Finlay blinked when James suddenly covered his face again and watched the guests walk by and disappear behind some tents, then he returned his gaze to James. "I don't mind, I'm just glad I can actually be with someone."
