Fortunes and Fairytales

Cessney was walking around the circus grounds rather aimlessly today. The shift from travelling from town to town, selling her few wares to having a place to stay grounded was just starting to sink in. A part of her felt the need to go out and walk through the forest, to move on again, but the other part was thrilled at this chance for a settled life.

She studied the game and foods stalls as she walked past. A few days, was that all? Already, she had seen so much more new things here than she ever did on the road. There was so many people to meet, to get to know, and on top of that, she still had to find out all that Le Cirque had to offer. She got a taste of it when Lev and Escar had their wrestling match, but Cece knew that was hardly breaking the surface.

As she came around to the tents closer to the back of the circus, she stopped to study the purple and green one. When Lev had given her a tour her first day, he had pointed this one out as the fortune-teller's tent. Cece had never had her fortune told.

She shook her head and sighed. Well, this was a time of trying new things, and she would have to get to now the fortune teller at some point. Quietly, she stepped up to the entrance and went inside.

Cozy and curled up in the back of her tent, Janaan sat on her floor cross-stitching another blanket to add to her collection. She had a lot of free time, which she didn't mind. She preferred the peace and quiet any day. Her and The Oracle were enjoying a light chat until he had stopped and mentioned someone approaching, then soon enough came a voice. After putting away her things, she poked her head out of the flap that separated the main room from the back room.

"Ah, marhaba." Emerging completely, she continued, "Welcome to my tent. I am Janaan. Can I help you with something?"

"Oh, you are here...Um.." she smiled sheepishly. Trying new things be damned, Cessney was never sure how to introduce herself to strangers. She hesitated a moment while taking in Janaan's appearance and trying to place her accent before speaking up again. "Hello, Janaan, I'm Cessney. It's nice to meet you." She offered her hand to Janaan for a handshake. "I'm new to Le Cirque and I'm trying to meet everyone, so I thought I would stop in."

"And, um, I thought I might ask if I could get my fortune told...Maybe?" She asked, her voice getting quieter as she spoke as she realized that introducing herself and then outright asking for a fortune seemed a little forward. After all, maybe this was Janaan's 'off hours', and Cece was intruding.
